General Information

Minimum Requirements for participation

All current EVHS students (or enterering freshman) must have a demonstrated ability to swim safely. Students are encouraged to enhance swimming ability by participating in external swim and water polo programs.

School district requirements can be seen at: ESUHSD. There also may be other specifc requirements. Contact the coach for more info.

Practices

In respect for other team members and the team as a whole, all players are expected to be on time for each practice and event. If there is any reason a player needs to be late or must miss a team activity or practice, contact the coach as soon as possible prior to the activity!

How to join

Please supply the following to the coach:

1. Parent/Guardian, Insurance and Physician consent. Use the District Consent Form. (click here)
2. Code of Conduct Form       (click here)
3. Prohibit Steroid Use Form       (click here)
4. Email the following information to the coach.
       * Player's Last Name
       * Player's First Name
       * Player's Email address (if any)
       * Player's Cell phone (if any)
       * for each parent/guardian:
         > Last Name
         > First Name
         > home phone number and email address
         > work phone number and email address
         > cell phone number

*NOTE: Please make and keep a copy of the forms prior to supplying to the coach!!!
**NOTE: THE DISTRICT CONSENT FORM MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO ENTERING THE WATER.

Questions/Answers

Q: Must I have experience to join the team?

A: No. Many students have never played water polo before entering high school. It is best to build up your swimming strength and endurance prior to the beginning of the season!

Q: Must players use the low cut official water polo swim shorts?

A: No. However, it is recommended for the extra speed and less possibility of entanglement during play. One good alternative is to use 'jammer' style swimshorts.
